Welcome to Tidywell — the chore app that actually gets your brain

Why we built Tidywell, who it's for, and what makes it different from every other chore app on the market.

Cleaning apps have existed for years. Most of them fail for the same reason: they were designed for neurotypical brains, the kind that see a tidy home as a motivating reward and a messy one as a self-evident problem to solve.

For a huge portion of us — anyone with ADHD, autism, chronic illness, executive dysfunction, or just a messy life — those apps don't work. They pile on checkboxes, punish missed days with broken streaks, and colour overdue tasks red like a teacher marking a failed test. After a week, they get deleted.

Tidywell is different on purpose.

The short version

Tidywell is a household chore and cleaning app with four ideas other apps don't touch:

  • A virtual home. Every task you check off earns coins. Spend them on furniture, wallpapers, and flooring in a dollhouse version of your real rooms. It's a dopamine loop lifted directly from mobile games, applied to your kitchen.
  • Live Sprints. Kahoot for cleaning. Share a 4-letter code, clean together on a synced timer, watch tasks disappear from everyone's list in real time. Body doubling, built in.
  • AI task breakdown. "Clean the kitchen" is overwhelming. Tidywell can turn it into six 2-minute steps you can actually start. This single feature has been the most-loved change in our beta.
  • No guilt, no red. Overdue tasks glow warm amber, never red. Missed days pause streaks, never break them. Vacation mode freezes everything when life happens. There is nothing in Tidywell designed to shame you.

Who Tidywell is for

We built Tidywell for:

  • Adults with ADHD who want a home that doesn't collapse when their dopamine does
  • Families who want to split chores fairly without it becoming a second job
  • Roommates sharing a flat
  • Anyone who's tried Sweepy, Tody, or Sweepy-alikes and bounced after a week

If that's you, welcome. Read the ADHD deep-dive, the virtual home guide, or the honest comparison against Sweepy.
